Club Information
Location
The Broadbeach United Soccer Club was established in the 1960's and is centrally located on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
The club is situated 3km (1.9mi) south of Surfers Paradise and less than 200m (650ft) from the golden sands that line the Gold Coast.
The grounds, which are in the heart of Broadbeach, boast approximately 22,500m² (242,200ft²) of sports fields on the corner of Chelsea Avenue and Surf Parade Broadbeach — the main vehicular thoroughfare into the Broadbeach central business district. The sports fields are within walking distance of the main shopping, restaurant and café area, with the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre and Jupiters Casino also only minutes away.
The club is holder of a long-term lease agreement with the Gold Coast City Council and is situated on the only council-owned sports fields on the Gold Coast. Fields are open year-round for use by local residents, as well as for visitors to the many high-rise and low-rise buildings in the surrounding area.
History
Broadbeach United is a long-standing success story in Gold Coast soccer and has its roots with the Gold Coast Scottish Community and a reputation as a family club. The club's mascot is the dolphin in recognition of its close proximity to the Pacific Ocean.
Membership
The club boasts a healthy annual membership and proud home of one of the most successful Senior Mens' soccer teams in Gold Coast history; and is also building a junior base that has increased two-fold in the past few years.
